Front Gate to be open for five days

The front gate will be open for 4-5 days starting August 9, 2024. A circuit board in the CellGate unit has failed, and a new board is on order.

This breakdown follows a 30-day planned upgrade of the TollTag readers that began on July 8, 2024. The upgrade required the gates to operate with just one TollTag reader during the 30-day upgrade.

Reducing Unauthorized Entries

In other gate-related developments, several actions have been suggested to reduce unauthorized entries since the package theft last month.
  1. Exit Gates: The closing rate on the exit gates has been shortened to reduce unauthorized entries. It has been reported that unauthorized people enter through the exit gates just after residents depart the community. This is most common at the south (Knoll Trail) exit.
  2. FedEx: Most FedEx deliveries are made by either a regular ground guy (Daniel) or a regular “air FedEx” guy (Wayne). Daniel and Wayne are now set up to make deliveries via the Knoll Trail entrance to help reduce congestion at the Westgrove Entry. We are planning to do the same with UPS and Amazon primary drivers.
  3. Entry Gates Tailgaters: We are asking residents to be diligent and not allow tailgaters to enter the community when the resident enters. This is best done by stopping briefly after entering and allowing the gates to close. This is standard procedure for FedEx at their own depots. The closing rate on the LoBT entry gates has been shortened to make this easier.
  4. Entry Gates Sitters: We are also asking residents not to allow gate sitters (vehicles sitting up against the gate waiting for it to open when a resident pulls behind them. If you see someone gate-sitting, please drive to the Knoll Trail entrance.

Pedestrian Gate Lock Repairs and Code Changes

The pedestrian gate locks at Knoll Trail (resident exit) and Golf Course (resident entry) have been repaired. The gate codes, which have not changed in 30+ years, are currently being changed. Please see email for the new code. Please do not share the code with anyone other that a known resident.

Pool House and Bathroom Code Changes

The door codes are currently being changed because we have numerous contractors and delivery people using the pool bathroom. Please do not give bathroom access to anyone other than a known resident. We have a cleaning service in weekly to clean the bathroom and she is having a difficult time keeping up. A new code will be sent by email. It will be different than the pedestrian gates.

  1. Gate code still the same for realtors?

    1. Good question. Sort answer –> yes.

For all readers, real estate entry codes are assigned to each property sale for 30 days or until the property closes. These codes have limited entry hours and their use is monitored. Open house codes are assigned for the exact hours of each open house.

The pedestrian gate codes (topic above) are not given to real estate agents.

  2. Is this change for the bathroom at the pool also?

    1. Sort answer –> no. There will be separate codes for the bathroom and pool house.

Homeowners have innocently provided the bathroom codes to their contractors and delivery drivers and the bathroom has once again become a public bathroom. Friday an SUV pulled into the community (gates were open). The driver used the bathroom and he then left.

A resident reported someone coming out of the bathroom at 6 AM – appears a nonresident spent the night at the pool.

Hopefully tighter control on the password will resolve this.
